biography Robert Sarnoff is an award-winning filmmaker and visual artist. He is Editorial Cartoonist for New York’s oldest weekly newspaper, The Wave, and his work includes short films, paintings and pencil drawings. His film The Irish Ropes charts the rise and fall of a champion-producing gym in Rockaway. His documentary-style No Rooms Lobby is a portrait of a life on the edge of poverty, and this film has been requested for the archives of the National Coalition for The Homeless as well as the Queens Cinema Collection. This film won the Award for Best Docudrama at the Tulsa Oklahoma Bare Bones Film Festival.
Mr. Sarnoff’s newest film, Dispatch, reveals the quiet desperation and inner struggles of drivers of a local taxi service in Queens. Sarnoff’s journey continues as he collaborates with his former filmmaking protégé Kevin Raman, presently working for television’s Charlie Rose, Letterman, Survivor, Amazing Race, and CBS. This team is now filming a documentary, The Romeows, about Retired Older Men Who Eat Out On Wednesdays.
