synopsis
Joey appears to be just a regular guy from his Bronx Italian neighborhood. He’s tough, works two jobs, and hangs with the fellas’. But a lifelong secret has always separated Joey from the rest – his passion for Ballet.

biography
Jeremy Joffee hails from the Bronx where he encountered the arts at an early age. His artistic background began with his musical training on the saxophone and clarinet at the age of ten. After attending LaGuardia H. S. for the Performing Arts, he attended SUNY Purchase as a jazz performance major. Jeremy has performed professionally with many great musicians such as the legendary bassist, Buster Williams, and most recently with blues guitarist extraordinaire, Bobby Kyle. Jeremy has always had a deep love of film. He is on a mission to create great moving stories while composing and conducting his own scores. Jeremy has already written, directed, and composed the music to three short films, "The War of the Lawn", "Between Bars", and "The Mop Dance". His thesis film, "The Bronx Balletomane" [starring Federico Castelluccio], was produced during his graduate studies at The City College of New York, where he received his M.F.A. degree in Media Arts Production in 2008. "The Bronx Balletomane" received the "Best Screenplay" award at Ciyvisions 2008. Jeremy was also a winner in the Panavision New Filmmakers Program in 2007, and National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Scholarship winner in 2008. In addition to being a filmmaker/musician, Jeremy currently teaches music and a filmmaking workshop at the Early Childhood Center at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY and teaches multi-media at Jefferson elementary school New Rochelle, NY. He is also an active member of SGI-USA; an American Buddhist association that promotes world peace and individual happiness based on the teachings of the Nichiren school of Mahayana Buddhism.

filmmaker's note
"The theme of never giving up on your dreams really pushed me to write this story. At times in my life, I struggled with going for my dreams and there were certain moments that I nearly gave up. So Joey's story of a regular guy from the Bronx, who had a dream, lost it, and finds it again many years later, really identified with me. My hopes are that the Bronx Balletomane will show that it's never too late for anybody. As long as you're breathing, there's hope. And...I really wanted to make people laugh!"
